The 5th "Wild Light" Chinese Lantern Exhibition lights up Ireland
On Oct 28, the 5th "Wild Light" Chinese Lantern Exhibition opened at Dublin Zoo in Dublin, Ireland. The lantern show, co-organized by Dublin Zoo and Zigong Xinya Lantern Cultural Industry Co. LTD in Sichuan Province, has attracted nearly one million people for its fourth edition.
The theme of this year's lantern show is "The Magic of Life" and the colorful lanterns show the importance of biodiversity to the audience. Visitors will follow a one-way trail through brightly lit woodlands before meeting wondrous pollinators, including giant bees and hives, as they witness some of nature's most fascinating transformations. From tropical rainforests to Marine life, visitors can learn more about the magic of life and the role they can play in protecting the planet.
This year's event, held amid the European energy crisis, is an innovative attempt to conserve energy by going off-grid and being powered by hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) derived from 100% renewable raw materials.
