With lights as Bridges, Zigong lanterns tell Chinese stories
The world Expo 2020 in Dubai came to an end on March 31 after 182 days. At 10 p.m., the China Pavilion, named "Huaxia Light," closed. Thanks to its unique architecture and colorful activities, the China Pavilion has won the Bronze Medal of The World Expo Award for Architecture and is regarded as one of the most popular, distinctive and exciting national pavilions.
In the China Pavilion, a set of lanterns named "China Power" hold hands with the world through the Expo stage. The lanterns, from Zigong City, Sichuan Province, were designed and produced by Shengshi Silk Road, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zigong Culture & Tourism Investment, and attracted extensive attention from the audience and media as soon as they appeared in the China Pavilion.
"The lantern is 3.5 meters long and 3 meters high. It is shaped by traditional Chinese lantern crafts, integrated with clear waters and green mountains, smart cities, Chinese speed and Chinese mascots, and made by exquisite lantern technology." According to The introduction of Song Qingshan, chairman of Zigong Cultural Tourism Investment and Development Co., LTD., as part of the main visual wall of the China Pavilion, the lighting group specially adopts the combination of modern technological materials and traditional lantern production techniques. In the limited display space, It displays elements such as China aerospace, high-speed rail, smart city, smart ecology, LOGO of China Pavilion and panda, mascot of China Pavilion. It fully demonstrates China's innovative achievements in science and technology, information and communication, and actively promotes the Belt and Road Initiative and the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
"Using lanterns as the medium, tell Chinese stories with colorful lanterns." This is an epitome of how Zigong has promoted outstanding Chinese culture to "go out" with colorful lanterns in recent years. It is also zigong's answer to the question of how Chinese culture can better go out into the world.
