Zigong city's second lantern making skills competition was held in Yantan

The 2nd lantern making skills competition was held in Yantan district of Zigong City, Oct. 18, 2021.It is reported that the competition aims to vigorously cultivate high-quality lantern industry technical skills, promote lantern vocational training, improve the lantern production level, continue to reserve and push outstanding talents for the lantern industry, promote the high-quality development of the lantern industry along the Yantan district.
This activity aims to convey the theme of promoting craftsman spirit and inheriting lantern skills through two major projects of lantern art production and lantern pasting production
Lantern pasting production project is intended to test material selection, material preparation, glue, cloth, taut, cutting, compaction and other basic skills, will be selected from the map, color separation, glue playing glue, adhesive cloth cutting, material and time to score. There will be 4 judges in each event, and each contestant's score will be calculated on the average of all judges' scores.
The lamp art production project focuses on the test of color recognition, color matching, spray halo, painting and other basic skills, will be from the color recognition, block coloring, color uniformity, color block boundary fluency, cleanliness, reduction, time control and other aspects of the score, after lofting, color, spray painting production, spray painting four skills competition procedures.
Silk lanterns are the common urban memory of Zigong people and also the traditional advantageous industry of Zigong. Over the past 30 years, zigong Lantern Fair has not only traveled all over the world and the five continents of China, but also been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage, as well as a high-quality folk culture activity promoted overseas by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. As the birthplace of zigong lantern making, Yantan District has an 800-year history of lantern making. Lantern craftsmanship has been passed down from generation to generation here, and lantern craftsmen occupy the first place in the city.
